Message from the Hon Nola Marino MP, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories
Christmas Island is an extraordinary island steeped in history, rich in culture, abounded by spectacular marine and terrestrial beauty and primed for new opportunities for business.
The new Christmas Island CV developed by the Indian Ocean Territories Regional Development Organisation, is an exciting project that showcases the local skills and capabilities that Christmas Island has to offer, helping grow and diversify the local economy by attracting and supporting new and innovative business investment.
This resource, proudly funded by the Australian Government, demonstrates our commitment to creating more jobs on the ground, driving economic growth and building a stronger, more sustainable Christmas Island that is ready for the future.
I would like to thank the Regional Development Organisation, business sector and all local organisations and community members who contributed to this directory.
I strongly commend this exciting initiative, and look forward to continuing to work together on our shared goal of increased economic opportunities for Christmas Island.
Message from Natasha Griggs, Administrator of the Australian Indian Ocean Territories of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands
The Christmas Island CV was funded by the Australian Government’s Supporting Economic Activity and Diversification on Christmas Island grant and developed by the Indian Ocean Territories Regional Development Organisation (RDO) which I have the privilege of chairing.
It was developed following the success of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands CV. Together these resources showcase the remarkable local capacity available in the Indian Ocean Territories. I commend this resource and encourage its continued use and promotion for the prosperity of Christmas Island.
As Christmas Island’s economy continues to evolve, it is resources like the Christmas Island CV that will ensure local suppliers and businesses are at the forefront of new opportunities, supporting employment and economic diversification.
